Markos Miller passed along this note, and extends an invitation to all residents of Deering Center:
“Friends and Neighbors,
Less than 2 weeks ago over 50 members people turned out for the first of two community forums to identify the key issues Portland must deal with and to begin to describe the future we want for our great city. This Thursday, May 26th, the Citizen Portland: Planning Our Future conversation continues off-peninsula.
- Thursday, May 26, at Deering High School on Stevens Avenue
- Doors open at 5:30 pm; Forums run from 6-8 pm
Bring your Neighbor!
Light fare and rich discussion will be served!
Your input will help establish community based criteria regarding where we see our city heading and the issues we need to make that a reality.
I hope you will join us and have your voice be heard. Please spread the word an encourage others to attend.
Please RSVP with Hilary Frenkel, firstname.lastname@example.org
Why: Because an engaged public is the foundation of a healthy democracy!”
